Parish Happenings in the Community
Scouting Programs
Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs are available for students in kindergarten through high school. Adults are invited to participate as leaders and volunteers. Interested parties can contact the Piqua Catholic School Office for further information.
Annual Corpus Christi Procession
Following the Noon Mass at St. Mary on Corpus Christi Sunday, Christ is taken to the streets of Piqua in the form of a procession from St. Mary to sister parish St. Boniface, with a short prayer service at the funeral home halfway between the parishes. All are welcome to participate in all or part of this procession.
Memorial Day Mass at Cemetery
Following the annual Memorial Day Parade, in conjunction with St. Boniface Church, a Memorial Mass remembering our deceased loved ones is held outside at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Church Fair at the Mall
Each year, many of the area Piqua churches, including St. Mary Church, have displays at the Piqua Mall which depict the faith in action of the different churches Volunteers from the church work at the booth throughout the weekend to answer questions regarding our parish and the Catholic faith.
Heritage Festival-Outpost Booth
St. Mary Parish joins the community in celebrating the Piqua Heritage Festival each Labor Day weekend. Approximately 125 volunteers per day share in the fun working together as food vendors. Proceeds benefit the general parish fund.
