Parish Luncheons and Dinners
Dinner for Women of St. Boniface and St. Mary parishes’ Altar Societies
St. Mary’s Altar Society and St. Boniface’s St. Clare Society sponsor an annual joint dinner held every spring. This covered dish dinner is open to all women from both parishes. The parishes take turns hosting the dinner, with the host parish providing the entertainment. This is a time for all to enjoy one another’s company.
Wedding Anniversary Mass and Dinner
Couples celebrating 25, 40, 50, or more years of marriage are invited to a special Mass of recognition at the Noon Mass on the first Sunday in November. Luncheon is served following the Mass.
Weekly Fish Fry on Fridays during Lent
The Family Life Commission traditionally sponsors Lenten Fish Frys on the six Fridays following Ash Wednesday. The weekly Fish Frys feature all-you-can-eat fish and fries along with applesauce or cole slaw and French bread. Both dining in and carry out dinners are available. Different parish organizations supply homemade baked goods for an additional cost. The profits from the baked goods sale go to the organization selling them. The FLC chairs the event and solicits help of many parishioners in the prep work Thursday night and Friday afternoon as well as the cooking, serving, and clean up on Friday. These excellent fish frys are well attended by both parishioners and members of the Piqua community. The event enables the FLC to donate money annually for special projects of the parish. The Finance Council traditionally conducts a Lenten raffle with the drawing at the last fish fry.
