Major Website Updates

Posted March 20, 2009 in categories Website Information

It is our pleasure to announce the much-anticipated relaunch of the St. Mary website.  Our objectives with this site update are to make the site into an exhaustive parish resource through more content, more details, and adjustments on the visitor and administrative sides to make the site more usable and manageable.

The most prominent change on the user end is the addition of new pop-up menus in the bottom navigation, allowing us to augment the content available on the site without introducing excessive clicking.  Speaking of minimizing mouse clicks, notice the 'Latest News Items' list on the home page.  Also notice that links to bulletins are now direct links, instead of going to a page telling the reader to click on an attachment.  We've also made visible the RSS feed for news, for those who may be interested in adding it to their feed readers.

We have worked hard the last several months to make this site a useful resource to parishoners and visitors through a massive expansion of available content and refinement of the user experience.  However, we realize that individuals may come across problems or inadequacies on the site.  Most significantly, because of the degree of content restructuring, direct URLs to pages on the site may have changed if you're entering a URL from an old bulletin or email.

Whether your experience has been good or bad, we'd like to know about it.  If you have comments or criticism about the site, please send us feedback.  We will address errors as soon as possible and keep any suggestions on the pipeline for future updates.

Thanks and enjoy your visit,
Chase Cathcart, webmaster
and the St. Mary Parish Staff
